We find many of the world's most dangerous creatures in Australia. In fact, of the world's ten most deadly snakes, more than half can be found in Australia! There are also spiders, crocodiles and sea creatures that can kill people. Here are some:
The Box Jellyfish takes more lives in Australia than snakes, spiders and crocodiles. Its tentacles are very toxic and can be up to 80 centimetres in length.
The Red Back Spider is well-known because it is so dangerous. It can be found all over Australia, in cities as well as in the countryside. It likes to hide under logs and rocks.
The Salt Water Crocodile can be up to 7 metres long. It is the biggest reptile in the world and can eat people. It is found along the northern coast of Australia and inland in the rivers.
The Brown Snake is also very dangerous. It is normally about 1.5 metres long and its venom can kill people.
