The sixth step of the research process is the presenting of the results of the research. You may have done an excellent job in planning your research, gathering your data, and analyzing the data, but all your work can be wasted if you cannot effectively communicate your research results to your audience or audiences. Again, communication is a key skill to be developed during the course of your research project. The results can be presented in a written from- a report, or in an oral from- a presentation. Report are particularly important because they present the results in an organized and permanent from; reflect the quality of research; and increase the likelihood of action. They are also tangible indicators of what you or your group can do. You need to develop effective communication skills to ensure the research has been properly completed and the results are understood by the targeted audience. Discussions regarding written report and oral presentation are presented in Chapters 13 and 14 .
