Nakhon Ratchasima which is commnonly known as "Khorat" which is situated on Khorat Plateau. The city itself serves as the Gateway to historical sites and cultures of the northeastern people. It is approximately 259 kilometres norheast of Bangkok. You can take a bus,catch a train or fly to Nakhonratchasima which has an area of 20,548 sg.km. or about 12,842,600 rai. It is the biggest province the northeast of Thailand. There are about 2.6 million people living in it.
General areas are mainly within the high level plain. There are mountain ranges, namely Khao Yai in the south and Panom Dong Rak in the West. There are 3 important rivers passing through Nakhon Ratchasima: Lam Takhong, Lam Plaimart and Lam Praploeng
In the norrh,Nakhon Ratchasima connects with Chaiyaphum and Khon Kaen. Its southern border connects with Nakhon Nayok, Pachinburi and Sakaew. Its eastern border connects with Buriram and Khon Kean. And its western border connects with Saraburi and Lopburi.
