Acer appoints new CEO
Acer has appointed Jason Chen as corporate president and chief executive officer, effective from January 1.
Taking up the role of leading Acer through its corporate transformation, Chen is currently the senior vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
Acer's chairman Stan Shih said that Chen is an excellent manager with extensive experience and proven execution capability. The company's human resource committee met Chen on several occasions for in-depth dialogue and exchange of views before the appointment.
With Chen as Acer's corporate president and CEO, Shih shall continue to serve as chairman of the firm and chairman of the transformation committee. In his new role, Chen will work toward reviewing the change initiatives and enhancing communication as well as processes between the board and the management team.
