All in all, the conversion of biomass to biofuels holds a very promising future. A study conducted by the Department of Energy showed that the use of biodiesel cut down on carbon dioxide emissions by 78 percent. The production value is also greater than normal oil; for 4.5 times the energy is gained than is needed to produce biodiesel. The future will rely on second-generation fuels: the clean and efficient energy source.
