Recently, transformer-oil-based nanofluids have been developed by dispersing nanoparticles in the oil.
It has been demonstrated that some of these nanofluids have much greater dielectric breakdown strengths or thermal conductivities than the host transformer oil [7]–[25].
Several review articles have been published recently, but most of them focus on the thermo-physical properties of water- or oil-based nanofluids [26]–[28].
It would seem that no review dealing specifically with transformer-oilbased nanofluid has been published to date. This article presents such a review.
