It took three years for His Majesty to translate A Man Called Intrepid by Canadian writer William Stevenson. The book is about sir Willia Stephenson, who began his military career with the Royal Canadian Engineeers during World War I.
During World War II, Stephenson, whose code name was Intrepid, became chief of a British spy network, finding military secrets of the German Nazi army and reporting to British Prime Minister Winson Churchill and US President Roosevelt.
A Man Called Intrepid was translated by His Majesty into Nai Intra Phu Pid Thon Lang Phra (Mr. Intra Who Does a Thankless Job) . The book reached millions of Thai readers and showed an example of somebody who made a sacrifice for their country.
