Thai people, both young and old, love their mobile phones.
You see them using their smartphones everywhere, even in places where they shouldn’t – like crossing the street, driving their cars or even crossing the railroad tracks.
The problem is that when people are using their phones, it is difficult for them to pay attention to what is happening around them. In a busy city like Bangkok that often means people bump into each other while walking on footpaths.
Kasertsart University has a solution to the problem. The university has two lanes on the footpaths, one for mobile phone users and one for ordinary pedestrians. There are arrows in the mobile phone lanes to show which direction to walk.
