The focus of this study was to identify omissions in hand
hygiene practice and glove use among hospital health and
support workers in Hong Kong. The results show that they
had a satisfactory level of compliance with international
infection control guidelines. However, the results must be
treated with caution because this study used observation as
the data collection method and a Hawthorne effect may be
unavoidable
