During the adsorption experiments, the outlet Hgo concentrations were measured over time. The Hgo adsorption results were
plotted in a dimensionless adsorption breakthrough curve, in which the normalized concentration term defined as the ratio of
outlet Hgo concentration at time, t = t (C) to outlet Hgo concentration at time, t = 0 (Co) given by C/Co, was plotted as a function
of time. The outlet Hgo concentration at time, t = 0 is equal to the initial Hgo concentration (Co) or the bypassed Hgo concentration
(CBP). The Hgo adsorption capacity at any time t, qt (ng/g) was calculated by using Eq. 1. The integration term was evaluated by
calculating the area above the curve.
