3. At some point, the body reacts to the high concentration of alcohol in the blood stream and nausea occurs. This may cause vomiting.
4. Sometimes, the person loses consciousness. Some people may go into a coma or even die as their breathing rate and pulse rate greatly decrease.
Where we consume alcohol, our liver will try to remove harmful substances in teh alcohol. If alcohol is consumed over a long period of time, the liver may be damaged. In serious cases of liver damage, death may occur. Other organs, such as our brain, heart, lungs and stomach will also be damaged when they absorb the alcohol carried by our blood.
Drinking too much alcohol also increases the risk of cancer in teh mouth, stomach and liver. This is because alcohol is considered a carcinogen--a substance that can damage our cells and cause cancer.
