Phonetics is a scientific study of the sounds of speech including the physical production, transportation and perception of actual speech sounds (Davenport & Hannash, 1998). The person doing this work is called a phonetician. There are two linguistic disciplines which investigate the sound, that is , phonetics and phonology. In a certain respect phonetics and phonology deal with many of the same thing; however, phonology examines the function of sounds within a language, wile phonetics examines the actual speech sonds.
