The application of microcapsule technology in the textile industry has attracted more attention with the development of functional textiles which can satisfy the needs for comfort and safety of consumers. [1-3] The microcapsules are prepared by packaging very tiny droplets or particles of liquid or solid material with a continuous film of polymeric material, which can control release of the contents under the influences of specific conditions. Recently, durable fragrances and perfumes have been introduced into textiles.[3,4] Other potential applications include production of carbonless copying paper, liquid crystals, phar-maceuticals, foot additives, cosmetics, coatings, electronic inks, catalysts and dyes etc.[5-11] However, the availability of micro-capsule textiles in commercial markets, is growing slowly,[12] which is attributed to poor durability and performance of the functional textiles with microcapsules.
