I work in the European sector. The Group Vice President is Ivo Verheyen, Managing Director is Herman Jorgensen, Depot Manager is Michael Henderson, Logistics Manager is Lisa Hunter, Warehouse Supervisor is James Kirkwood and then there is me Kevin!
Three customers we regularly do business with are Ensco, Bibby Ship Management and Technip.
For Ensco we move the freight to Europe, Middle East, Asia and USA, however there is scope for us to do Denmark and Offshore UK rigs, this is currently done by BLM. The other area would be Africa this is done by Panalpina. I think GAC could do this work as we currently do a very good job on the areas we have, our KPI's are consistently achieved and we have experience and knowledge of the processes required to carry out the work in the current sectors.
We manage the warehouse operation for Bibby Ship Management, we take the freight in to our warehouse and deliver based on a monthly schedule. BSM import many of these shipments but the import side of things is done by another company. We have a team of freight forwarders in the office that could easily do this task and this would allow visibility of all Bibby freight.
For Technip they use GAC mainly for Ships Agency, they use Pentagon for there freight forwarding needs, this is something Aberdeen could do as again we have trained Freight Forwarding specialists within the office. The office currently send the freight from Aberdeen to Lerwick and back again so there is a relationship already there.
It is important that I know the organisational structure and where I fit in as I am first point of contact for many suppliers and customers, I also need to know how my role impacts on that of my colleagues. If I didn't know the products and services I would not be able to advise potential new customers of same.
