Visitors to Museum Siam will be able to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Bangkok National Museum by attending a commemorative event, from Friday to Sunday.
Activities at the “Muse Fest On Thai Museum Day” include four 20-minute performances depicting the story of Thailand from past to present. They include Suvarnabhumi Legend, Three Ladies Chat Room, Khunying’s Shopping and Thai Lady. Each will be staged four times a day, starting at 10am.
At 11.30am each day there will be a storytelling activity, during which 10 stories will be told, including The Toad Prince And Phya Thaen, Three Days A Meal, The Legend Of The Gigantic Vine and more.
There will also be two museum tour routes. The first covers the Queen’s Gallery, King Prajadhipok Museum, Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall and Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Centre. The second route will take visitors to Praisanee Yakarn and the Siriraj Museum. A free shuttle bus service will take visitors to many of the top museums located on Rattanakosin Island on Saturday and Sunday. The shuttle bus will leave Museum Siam every hour, from 10am to 6pm.
There is no admission fee to the festival. Museum Siam is on Sanam Chai Road.
