F1 2013 is the only single-series racing game on this list (unless you want to count Dirt 3), and it's arguably Codemasters' best racing game to date. It's a great Formula 1 racing sim that doubles as a sports sim and racing RPG, as well as features some great vintage racing options thanks to its small but enjoyable collection of historic F1 cars.
The car handling is appropriately demanding: F1 cars feel invincible right up until your attention lapses for a split second, and then they remind you that you're driving a super-light, super-powered sports car with an engine big enough to hurl it off the track like a child throwing a toy.
It helps that F1 features a pretty great lineup of racing circuits, and a nuanced variety of cars across the different manufacturers. With a great career mode that goes some distance to making F1 come to life, F1 2013 is probably the pinnacle of Codemasters' F1 series, and maybe the best F1 game since GP Legends. And given Codemasters' phoned-in F1 2014 and dismal showing on PC with F1 2015, it doesn't look like the 2013 edition will be unseated anytime soon.
