For this, rural health programme is introduced to medical students in University
of Malaya, in order to allow students to have a better understanding of the way of life of
the rural community and the diseases present in the community. Besides that, through this
programme, students are allowed to put into practice many aspects studied in the SPM
department. This programme consists of 3 components which will be conducted in phase 7
3A and phase 3B. Community Residency Programme (CRP) is the first part of the rural
health programme, which is introduced to medical students when they are at phase 3A. It
is aimed to introduce students to rural health programme and also allow them to gain
knowledge and understand the people and communities. During phase 3B, students will
be further introduced to another 2 programme, namely OMHS and Kuala Langat District
Posting.
