Cabin Conditions
Flight attendants do the majority of their work in the confined area of the airplane. They must stand to perform most of their service and safety functions. They often become fatigued from standing during long shifts and through many time changes. They are subject to injuries from pushing carts and opening overhead compartments, especially when turbulence makes these functions dangerous. Cabin pressurization and sleep loss also contribute to their higher rate of work-related injuries than for most jobs.
