Currently proven delamination methods of PV modules include
physical disintegration, thermal decomposition, nitric acid dis- solution, solvent dissolution, and irradiation-based treatments. The physical disintegration process has the advantages of being capable of dealing with mixed PV wastes (e.g. broken modules, coated substrates and intact laminated modules) and using no process chemicals, although other separation processes are gen- erally required to follow as it cannot fully separate different material fractions.
