Trust of technology is another factor that has been shown to influence how likely users are to adopt a new technology. For this paper, trust is defined as a feeling of confidence in the integrity and trustworthiness of another party (Gefen et al., 2003). Gefen and colleagues (citing Luhmann, 1988) argue that trust is central to technology acceptance when the technology itself involves social uncertainty and risk.
