Chromatograms of the analytical tests show that there was
no trace of the carbamate (carbofuran) or any of its
metabolites in the pineapple fruits analysed. The presence of
volatile and non volatile compounds such as amino-acid
lcohols, esters, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids that
were resident in the pineapple fruits was however evident
from the chromatography test. The peak retention times on
