They were the kind of people who painted their living room bright red, and their kitchen bright yellow, and listened to heavy metal while washing the dishes. They had me paint their hallway to look like a forest. It was, without a doubt, the best place in to world to live.
Actually their house was in the countryside too. But with one difference - it was close enough to a town (albeit a very small one) that I could actually get a job.
I managed to borrow enough money from my grandmother to buy a cheap, battered moped (which I spray painted purple), and started work in a factory cutting slabs of frozen bacon into rashers.
Thus started what I like to call my "Bacon Cutting days".
But more on that tomorrow.
Cheers,
Julian
P.S. This "My Story" series is actually a re-write. I originally sent it out in the Doing English Daily Newsletter back in 2013. Sometimes I might include some of comments people made down here in the "P.S." area.
Not to day, though.
P.P.S. What exactly is "Two Step Speaking"?
Simple. It's a 10 module course which teaches you the system (method) which I use for teaching and learning languages.
This isn't actually the "main" Doing English course, but I prefer people to start with this one. So far about 400 people have been through it - and almost all have reported great results.
You can (and should) join here
P.P.P.S. Later in this email series I'll tell you exactly how I came up with this method. Later though.
