4. Conclusion
The photocatalysis results show that the amount of dye present
in the effluent is not directly proportional to the time of UV radiation
exposure, which indicates a variation in the time of decolorization.
This phenomenon can be observed in the effluent
treatment of the color 2205. Despite having lower absorbance
values, it took 120 min to complete decolorization as opposed to
60 min for decolorization of the color 2209 effluents. Colors
developed with Orange 122 and Blue 21 dyestuffs took more than
75 min to present decolorization rate above 90%.
Although the TOC removal rates were above 80% for all treatments,
there was an increase in TOC of 67% from the third to tenth
