Source of Microorganism
CGTase producing bacteria was isolated from soil
samples. This isolate was taxonomically identified as
Bacillus sp. G1 according to Bergey’s manual of
Systematic Bacteriology.11 The microorganism was
maintained on a medium containing 2% (w/v) agar, 1%
(w/v) soluble starch, 0.5% (w/v) yeast extract, 0.5% (w/
v) peptone, 0.1% (w/v) KH2PO4
, 0.02% (w/v)
MgSO4
.7H2
O and 1% (w/v) Na2
CO3
(autoclaved
separately). It was stored at 4 °C for further use.
