One major aim of this paper was to obtain reliable estimates of
biomass increases readily adaptable to a variety of growing situation
which may become orchard-specific. The biomass of fruits per
tree and per hectare can be relatively easily estimated by counting
the number of fruits and using info about the of mean fruit
dry weight. After fruit harvest, data of fruit yields are even more
precisely known. The amount of pruning wood can be also easily
retrieved from each orchard condition. Contrary to fruits and
pruning wood, the increase of biomass of woody organs and leaves
cannot be directly assessed
