The software was programmed using Lab-View(Ver. 8.0National
Instruments) If we input the systolic pressure, diastolic
pressure and pulse to be tested, the wave form of pressure and
the pulse of the stepping motor were calculated by the
software successively. From this calculation, the stepping
motor operated and the wave form was generated as shown in
Fig. 2. The algorithm for the calculation of the systolic and
diastolic pressure was referred to the standard algorithm
suggested by A.Sapinski . The cuff of the BP devices was
wrapped around a rigid cylinder. A simulator was included int
the pneumatic circuit via a T piece and a hose. The simulator
was controlled via a personal computer
