Perilla is used for oil production as a rich source of omega-3
polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), specificall alphalinolenic
acid (ALA). ALA (omega-3 fatty acid), is found in some other
plant oils sources such as flaxseed (linseed), with lower
amounts in walnut, canola, soy and animal sources like fish oil
(cold water fish as salmon, cod and mackerel).
