7. Key reference
This is a complete reference of keys that are able to be used in survive the wild.
7.1. Movement keys.
•Up, down, left, and right arrows: Move in that direction.
•control+space: Jump.
•page up and down: climb a tree or any other object that allows up and down movement.
•shift+left or right arrow: Turn 45 degrees counterclockwise or clockwise respectively.
•shift+up or down arrow: Turn your self 180 degrees.
•Control+shift+left or right arrow: hold to turn in one degree increments respectively.
•Control+shift+alt+left or right arrow: press to turn in one degree increments respectively.
•r: Toggle weather you are sitting or standing.
•mouse movement left/right: same as control+shift+arrows, but it happens as you move the mouse.
•x: Choose weather auto walking is on or off. If it is on, you can hold in the arrow keys to move rather than tapping them over and over.
7.2. Status keys
•f1. check players online.
•f2. check server uptime.
•f3. check ping time.
•f4: Check the Message Of The Day.
•S. check thirst.
•e. check energy.
•h. check health.
•U. Check hunger.
•k: Bring up the menu of trackible items. Press enter on an item and you will be tracking that object.
•b: check current location / zone.
•n: Check ware the object that your tracking is located.
•m: scan for near by items. This will bring up a tracking menu that works the same way as the tracking menu with k.
•p: scan for near by players.
•g: Hold this in and use any movement direction to see what's around you.
•f: if it is daytime, you can use this to check on the position of the sun, based on the time of the day.
7.3. Inventory keys
out of the inventory •1: select left hand.
•2: select right hand
•3: View the status of your hands.
•shift+1 or 2: Select left or right fist.
•control+1 or 2: Select left or right foot.
•space bar: use an item.
•t: use two objects or clap if none in hand. This is also known as interacting two hands / objects together.
•I: Enter inventory.
In the inventory •up and down arrows: switch between items.
•left and right arrows: put item in that hand.
•enter: check description of item in inventory if description exists.
•any letter: Switch to item in inventory (first letter navigation).
•Delete: Drop an item in your inventory.
•escape: Exit the inventory.
7.4. Chat keys
•v: hold this in to start talking, release to stop talking, and then your voice will be broadcasted. Make sure you have a proper microphone set for this to work.
•slash: chat on the radio, or enter a chat command. Radio is in-character chat.
•y: say something with tts voice at your position. This is also in-character chat.
•backslash: out of character chat.
•left bracket: Go back one item in the chat buffer
•shift+left bracket: Move to the beginning of the chat buffer
•right bracket: Go forward one item in the chat buffer
•shift+right bracket: Move to the end of the chat buffer
•comma: Go back one item in the event buffer
•shift+comma: Move to the beginning of the event buffer
•period: Go forward one item in the event buffer
•shift+period: Move to the end of the event buffer
•page up and down: resend or review messages you have typed in, based on the current chat that you are in, for example with the say command, it will show the last messages that you have typed just in the say command.
7.5. other keys
•l: Access social menu
•o: stop looking at someone
•home / end: change in game music volume
•shift+home / end: change in game general master volume
•z: toggle speaking of zones.
•escape: exits.
•f5: change your language channel. This allows you to select what language you are talking in, so that players who don't speak your language don't get chatted with loads of stuff they don't understand.
•f6: When logged in, you can press this to bring up a menu of online players. Press enter to copy one to the clipboard.
•F7: Show how much data has been sent to the client during server connection.
8. Joystick Reffrence
In survive the wild, it is now possible to use a joystick to completely control the game. You can do most of the things that you could do with out it, so having a joystick and some headphones can actually be pretty nice! You can check your stats, voice chat, use/intaract with items flawlessly, scroll threw menus, walk around, etc. All of the commands are listed below. Keep in mind that thwn this was created I was using the XBox joystick layout, so if some of this looks wierd, that's why. Commands will be listed below in terms of button number. Keep in mind also that button 7 also acts as s shift key so that more functions can be possible. •Button 0: Jump, same as the Control Space key Combanation.
•Button 1: Alternatly use an item, same as the Alt Space key Combanation.
•Button 2: Interact, same as the T key.
•Button 3: Open inventory, Same as the I key.
•Button 4: Left hand, same as the 1 key.
•Button 5: Right hand, same as the 2 key.
