1. ASEAN’s implementation of disaster risk management currently relies on only ministerial committees and coordinating agencies, including the appointment of working groups designated for specific tasks. Poor communication of the regional goal toward disaster-resilient community causes lack of participation of al involving parties. Policy, procedures, and implementable strategies at the national and local levels are still ineffective. Capacity building at the regional and national levels remains limited to conceptual goals and is in need of more directed translation and carefully designed implementation strategies. All member countries have to keep improving their capacity and capability in disaster management and invest more in future cooperation.
