Personnel in construction companies prefer to perform their tasks in project management based on past experience
and advice passed down from mentors rather than on written standard procedures or textbooks
or established analysis
tacit knowledge rather than explicit knowledge is utilized. Knowledge in construction industry
is therefore mostly in the heads of knowledgeable workforce and is lost when the workforce relocates or retires. Furthermore, construction industry is not known for valuing its employees for their contributions (Carillo, 2000) and this hinders knowledge sharing
