Good morning Lan,
I want you to know that I am thinking of you as I prepare for sleep. Your day is just beginning while I am still 11 hours behind you.
I have not heard of the Songkran Festival, but I just read about it. It sounds like it would be much fun, and it would be something that I would love to experience with you! Do they really throw water and powder onto the people in the streets? Have you heard of the Bun Bangfai Rocket Festival in Yasothon? That is something that I very much want to see also.
My weather is so different than yours, that it is difficult to compare. Our "winter" is so cold that it is sometimes below 0 degrees Celsius for many days in a row. I do not like that weather very much at all. When I was young, I enjoyed the summer most. I did not mind the heat at all. But as I get older, I like the Spring and Autumn seasons, which I think are more like your winter. The weather is mild and in the spring it rains often, but there is new life for the plants. The Autumn is not as wet and it is the end of the growing season for the plants, so the trees turn to beautiful reds and golds before the leaves fall off for the winter.
I a doing well. My stomach ached a little this afternoon, but I feel better now.
I think of you so many times during the day, Sweet Lan! And when I do, I smile without control. It is a wonderful feeling to have met such a wonderful person from the other side of the world. Someone who is gentle and kind and honest. A person who makes me feel so wonderful inside...like I did not know was possible for me. Thank you so much for that wonderful gift! I am starting to imagine the first time I see your smile in person. The nerves, excitement, and joy will be overwhelming I am certain?
Now I must sleep, as I have to awaken at 3:30 in the morning (14:30 your time).
You have me,
Michael
