• Greeting guests in a friendly and courteous manner at the entrance of the venue and ascertaining their seating requirements.
• Showing a warm and friendly attitude, which will enhance the guest’s experience and satisfaction
• Escorting guests to assigned tables, and seating them in a pleasant manner.
• Presenting menus to guests, and explaining / selling the daily specialities and seasonal foods as required.
• Ensuring that guests receive immediate attention from the supervisor or captain.
• Answering the telephone within 3 rings.
• Taking reservations as required in a very polite and courteous manner, ensuring that the smallest request or detail is taken into consideration, and that reservations are distributed equally to the different stations
• Attending to an immediate guest need in the absence of the waiter.
• Ensuring guest food and beverage items are at the proper temperature, and are attractive.
• Knowing the daily events and functions in order to answer guest enquiries.
• Having excellent knowledge of the server stations and their work load.
• Returning to each assigned table periodically to check guest satisfaction, and ascertain whether any additional items is required.
• Being able to answer any question about the hotel's services and facilities and being able to give tourists information in English.
• Cooperating fully with your colleagues, and working as a team at all times.
• Passing on all complaints and positive comments to the Supervisor or Manager.

• Thanking guests when they leave their table at the end of their meal for eating in the venue.
• Bidding farewell to departing guests, and inviting them to return.
• Help to ensure Plaza Athenee, a Royal Meridien standards are fully applied by putting into practise all training received, especially training relating to job knowledge and skills, and the hotel’s culture.
• Look continuously for ways to improve the quality, service and income of the hotel.
• Maintaining the highest standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
• Continuously show a positive, energetic and caring attitude at all times towards fellow staff, our guests, and our suppliers.
• Being familiar with all Plaza Athenee, a Royal Meridien emergency procedures
Contribute to operational efficiency:
• Ensuring menus and beverage lists are clean and in good order.
• Informing management about areas to improve.
• Ensuring flowers are always fresh and replaced if needed.
• Ensuring newspapers and magazines are new and well presented.
• Correcting immediately any incorrect set-up or item that is observed.
