The reverse was true when
messages framed with low-level construal terms were located on
the psychologically proximal page (Timeline). Consistent with
previous CLT studies, this research confirms the interaction between
construal levels and psychological distance. The current
research addressed the moderating role of individuals' psychological
distance toward their social media on their construal levels in
influencing the effect of persuasive messages. With this new
moderator, the current research can contribute to the extension of
CLT in new media research.
