The average of concentrations and mass loading of heavy metal in water samples were generally high in the inlet location of CW system, mainly for Al, Cu, Fe, Mn, and Zn. These results may be explained by the use of these metals in the fertilization of agriculture and aquaculture systems. Moreover, the effluent with swine wastes had a significantly high quantity of heavy metals intentionally added in fodder to prevent diarrhea and to enhance immune systems of swine (Hsu and Lo 2001).
