2.5. Data analysis
All analyses were completed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 17.0 forWindows.Normality of the outcome data was examined by the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, with p < 0.05 indicating that the data were not normally distributed, thus nonparametric statisticswas used for such data. Descriptive summaries were provided for baseline characteristics, and the data from the control and intervention groups were compared using the Mann– Whitney U or chi-square test according to the type of measurement scales. To determine whether groups of participants’ outcome measures improved, the change scores were calculated between post-intervention, follow-up and baseline. The Friedman test was used to compare the outcome measures over the three time points
within the group. Between-group mean changes of the outcome measureswere comparedusing the Mann–Whitney U-test. The level
of statistical significance was set at p < 0.05.
