The addition of caffeine to the thawing solution
enhanced motion quality parameters of frozen-thawed
boar sperm, with no influence on the integrity of plasma
or acrosomal membranes. Furthermore, insemination with
cryopreserved semen thawed in a caffeine-containing
solution reduced PMN migration into the uterine lumen,
suggesting an association with a decreased level of IL-8
mRNA expression in the endometrium.
