After 10 years of paralysis, this man was given back his feel ing of sensation
Electrodes from a Brain-computer inter face (BCI) were implanted into the man's brain
And the BCI was connected to a robotic arm with built-in tactile sensors
The sensors relayed measurements to the BCI and back into the man's brain
He actually felt touches as though his real hand was coming in contact with something
And his sense of touch even depended on the amount of electrical impulse delivered
Which researchers believe could of more nuanced tactile feedback mechanisms
