The microstructuresandpropertiesofvitrifiedbondabrasivetools,whicharecomposedofdiamond
grains andvitrifiedbondwithvaryingBi2O3 doping amounts,werecomprehensivelyinvestigated.The
diamondcompositesweresinteredwithinthetemperaturescopeoftheresearchwork.Theresults
show thattheadditionofBi2O3 improvedthehigh-temperaturefluidityofvitrifiedbondandthe
wettabilitybetweenvitrifiedbondanddiamondgrains;decreasedthethermalexpansioncoefficientof
vitrifiedbondandtheopenporosityofthediamondcomposite;andimprovedthemechanical
propertiesofdiamondcomposites,suchasbendingstrengthandRockwellhardness.Themicrostruc-
ture analysisshowedthatthediamondgrainswerecloselyoverlaidbyvitrifiedbondandthe
compositeswith4wt.%Bi2O3 contentexhibitedrelativelyuniformporedistribution.
