Intervention is defined as the purposeful and skilled interaction of the physical therapist with patients, and their care-givers, using various physical therapy methods and techniques to produce changes in the conditions that are consistent with the diagnosis and prognosis. Practicing and refining infants’ sitting up skills promote increases in communication, socialization, and daily living activities, such as eating, drinking, washing, and playing. It also improves eye-hand coordination more effectively (1). Thus, intervention for preterm infants who are unable to sit is necessary.
