Another key
point is that the method does not correct the spatial pattern of
the model (in percentile), so that, for example, the area where a
99th percentile rain takes place is as big as the model’s grid
cell, which is not realistic enough, even if the intensities are
corrected. Furthermore, the extrapolation of the function to the
extremes is based on an arbitrary assumption (linearity), the daily
cycles are not very realistic, and the method should only be used
for high resolution simulations, which is the case in our study
(50 km).
