Regarding cardiac rhythm, a prospective cohort study enrolling patients who underwent non-urgent CAGB found that post-operative heart rate at rest (2 months after surgery) may be associated with poor prognosis in patients with coronary artery disease, even after surgical revascularization. The strongest independent association between cardiovascular events and heart rate occurred for values >90 bpm (Frank et al., 2010).
