It is hoped that similar agreements will soon be signed with German tour operators, who, along with the Scandinavian countires, are now seen as priority markets for 2015.
As part of its consolidation strategy the CTO has recently introduced a new system of accreditation known as the Cyprus Tourism Quality (CTQ) award. Holidaymakers who see the CTQ label can be reassured that they will be offered outstanding value. Establishments applying for CTQ status will be appraised secretly by ‘mystery guests’ without the prior knowledge of staff – a relatively new phenomenon in Cyprus.
