Film portions were weighed (0.5 g) and covered with 10 mL of
methanol and then sealed and shaken for 48 h at 25 C. The extract
solutionwas then filtered, and the supernatant was used for testing
the films' antioxidant capacities. The radical scavenging activity
was measured using two different radicals, namely 2,2-diphenyl-1-
picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,20-azinobis-(3-ethyl-benzothiazoline-
6-sulfonic) acid (ABTS). The DPPH and ABTS assays are based on the
ability of the tested substance to scavenge radical cations. Both
assays were performed according to Llana-Ruiz-Cabello, Gutierrez-
Praena, Puerto, Pichardo, Jos, et al. (2015).
