Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis
FT-IR analysis was performed in order to
characterize the functional groups of the
biosorbents. A Perkin –Elmer spectrum RX/FT-IR
system was used for FT-IR analysis.
Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Analysis.
The scanning electron micrograph of adsorbents
was obtained with the help of Scanning Electron
Microscope (Model Leica-Stereoscan-440).
Preparation of dye solution
Methylene Blue (3, 9-bisdimethylaminophenazo
thionium chloride), a cationic dye, having
molecular formula C16H18N3SCl.3H2O ,molecular
weight 373.90,with C.I.Number 52015, is chosen
as the sorbet. The chemical structure of Methylene
Blue is as shown in Fig. 1.The stock solution of
MB was prepared by dissolving 1000 mg in 1000
ml distilled water. The stock solution was diluted
accordingly to obtain solutions of desired
concentrations. Analytical grade HCl or NaOH was
used for variation of pH.
