Team-based simulations (TBS) in nursing
Salas et al. (2009) define simulation as any artificial or synthetic environment that is created to manage an individuals (or teams) experiences with reality (p. 560). In practical terms, simulation is a training method in which participants perform tasks in lifelike circumstances and receive instant feedback from observers in order to assist them in improving coping skills (Moratis et al. 2006). Thus, TBS can provide nurses with the best training and most constructive learning experience as it provides an optimal environment for active and critical learning (Keys & Wolfe 1990).
