2.4. Evaluation of the schemes
The schemes were compared on their profit in the 8th generation, estimated as: View the MathML source, where μCAND and μSIB were the mean genetic levels of the traits CAND and SIB, respectively in generation 8 in the grow-out tier. It was assumed that in the 8th generation, the effect of selection on the reduction of genetic variance and rate of inbreeding had stabilized (Falconer and Mackay, 1996). All results presented are based on the mean of 50 replicates.
