It can be concluded that P2O5–PbO–BaO system has the potential to be used as radiation shielding glasses.The density
of this system glasses increases with in creasing the PbO ratio and decreasing BaO and P2O5 ratio. The maximum content of PbO is 65% (bywt)while the minimum content of BaO is 0%(bywt) and
the minimum ratio for P2O5 is 35%(bywt).
It should be noticed here that BaO in this system plays the role of CaO in ordinary silicate glasses.So,attention should be paid when decreasing the ratio
of BaO for glasses used in chemically aggressive conditions.
This system of radiation shielding glasses has advantages of
better transparency and better radiation effects resistant compared to commonly use dalkalileadsilicate glasses
