The method proposed by Chamberlain et al. [9] was used to identify polyhydramnios (Fig. 1), which involves measuring the vertical diameter of the largest fluid pocket, as was the amniotic fluid index (AFI) used by Phelan et al. [10], which is based on the measurements of all four quadrants. Any pocket of amniotic fluid greater than or equal to 80 mm and/or any AFI greater than or equal to 250 mm was considered to be polyhydramnios
