Build-up sample collection
Past research has indicated that the wash-off process resulting
from a rainfall event removes only a portion of the road dust available
on the surface (Sartor et al., 1974; Egodawatta et al., 2007).
Therefore, investigating wash-off for pollutant source characterisation
could be misleading. Accordingly, the research study discussed
in the paper investigated the dust build-up on urban road surfaces
which would represent all available pollutants.
