As shown in Fig. 1, the most significant decline in chlorophyll contents was observed in samples stored in direct daylight. Samples stored in direct daylight in paper packaging exhibited a significant (P < 0.05) decline in chlorophyll contents (the resulting amount being 0.7 mg per 1 g of tea) as early as in the 2nd month, and samples stored in direct daylight in glass packaging in the 3rd month (a decrease to 0.7 mg per 1 g of tea). By the 12th month the chlorophyll contents in these samples were practically eliminated.
